Our selection of restaurants in Kelso
1 The café at the garden centre in the grounds of Floors Castle offers take-away dishes prepared by the chef to the Duke of Roxburgh. For more about Floors, see our dedicated page
2 The Cobbles. An old pub which is now primarily a restaurant, a very popular eating place with our guests (including vegetarians) as well as many locals. It is necessary to book your table at the weekend and maybe also during the week. Drive to the centre of Kelso past the library. At the corner where the main road turns left, enter the car park straight ahead. The Cobbles backs onto the adjacent parking area to the right. Walk towards the square to the front of the restaurant.
3
4 Oscars. In Horsemarket, the street leading from the square to the left of The Town House/Tourist information centre. Excellent food served in a more lively atmosphere.
Restaurants in surrounding area
The George & Abbotsford Hotel in Melrose offers excellent bar meals and has a restaurant. On the south side of the main street with a car park at the back.
Jo's Kitchen in The Lodge at Carfrae Mill. Mid-way between Burnbrae and the Edinburgh by-pass at the junction between the A68 and the A697.
The Wheatsheaf at Swinton. 14 miles from Burnbrae and worth the journey for a special occasion. Located on the main road through the village opposite the green.
