Cheerful. Lots of vegetarian options. Delicious food, and homemade scones made daily (nearly as good as ours!). Now with plastic-free dried groceries for sale, bring your reusable pots, jars, bags and fill them up, just buy the quantity you want. Located on Roxburgh Street from town square walk towards Floors Castle almost opposite Co-Op.
Open 9.30 am - 5 pm Closed on Sundays and Mondays.

The Cobbles Freehouse and Dining

An old pub which is now primarily a restaurant, serving locally sourced, delicious food very popular with our guests as well as many locals. Due to Covid restrictions only 6 tables in use. It is necessary to book your table. Drive to the centre of Kelso past the library. At the corner where the main road turns left, enter the car park straight ahead. The Cobbles backs onto the adjacent parking area to the right. Cross Keys Hotel and Restaurant

Large hotel in Kelso square. Known for 'Early Bird' offer dine between 5.30pm and 6.30pm - an ideal time for families - Monday to Saturday. Large restaurant. Sunday lunch has also been recommended by guests staying at Burnbrae.

Mediterranean food, pasta, fish and more. Excellent presentation, friendly staff. Easy access for the less able, via a slope outside and lift inside. Minimal Covid precautions.

Floors Castle - Terrace Cafe
The Terrace Cafe found near the garden center sells drinks and cakes or something more substantial. Outdoor and indoor seating. If you prefer to eat in the comfort of your cottage but do not wish to do much cooking, the Terrace café at the garden centre in the grounds of Floors Castle offers frozen take-away dishes prepared by the chef to the Duke of Roxburgh. The Cafe also sells delicious gluten free shortbread. From Burnbrae, drive towards Kelso, turn right at the junction where you see the corner of the estate wall and then left into the grounds (about 2 miles), follow the road within the estate as directed.
