Cafe U
also known as Under the Sun
Address: 45 Roxburgh St, Kelso.
Cheerful, very child friendly with a play area at the back of the café. Wonderfully organic; lots of vegetarian options. Delicious food, and homemade scones made daily (nearly as good as ours !). On Roxburgh Street towards Floors Castle almost opposite Co-Op. Open 9.30 - 5pm .Closed on Sundays and Mondays

The Cobbles Freehouse and Dining
Address: 7, Bowmont Street, Kelso.
An old pub which is now primarily a restaurant, serving locally sourced, delicous food very popular with our guests as well as many locals. It is necessary to book your table at the weekend and maybe also during the week. Drive to the centre of Kelso past the library. At the corner where the main road turns left, enter the car park straight ahead. The Cobbles backs onto the adjacent parking area to the right. CAMRA's 2013 Scottish Pub of the Year, CAMRA Regional Pub of the Year 2014 2013, 2012– Edinburgh, Lothians and Borders and also featured in Waitrose Good Food Guide 2014.

The Waggon
Address: 10 Coalmarket, Kelso
Family friendly, (can be noisy). Great Value relaxed, varied menu. Young childrens play room.
Queens Head Hotel and Restaurant
Address: 24 Bridge Street, Kelso.
The menu is very varied, has senior citizen's and children's options, and the food is excellent. The restaurant area is small; it is popular, so it's worth booking ahead. Plenty of on-street parking nearby, and level access for wheelchairs via the rear of the property.

Cross Keys Hotel and Restaurant
Address: 36-37 The Square, Kelso.
Large hotel in Kelso square. Known for 'Early Bird' offer dine between 5.30pm and 6.30pm - an ideal time for families - Monday to Saturday.. Sunday lunch has also been recommended by guests staying at Burnbrae.

Contented Vine Restaurant
Address: 60 Horsemarket, Kelso.
A bright and cheery establishment, serving Mediterranean food, pasta and more. Excellent presentation, friendly staff. Easy access for the less able, via a slope outside and lift inside.

Floors Castle - Terrace Cafe
From Burnbrae, drive towards Kelso, turn right at the junction where you see the corner of the estate wall and then left into the grounds(about 2 miles).
The Terrace Cafe found near the garden center sells drinks and cakes or something more substantial. Outdoor and indoor seating. If you prefer to eat in the comfort of your cottage but do not wish to do much cooking, the Terrace café at the garden centre in the grounds of Floors Castle offers frozen take-away dishes prepared by the chef to the Duke of Roxburgh. The Cafe also sells delicious gluten free shortbread.

Birdhouse Tearoom at Woodside Plant Centre
Address: Woodside Plant Centre & Birdhouse Tearoom, Woodside Walled Garden, Nr Ancrum, Jedburgh, Scottish Borders. TD8 6TU.
Delicous fresh soup made on site, cakes and sandwiches, all made on-site. Eat outside in sheltered, walled garden or inside watching birds on feeders in the garden. Food allergies, intolerances and preferences, including gluten-free, dairy-free and vegetarian catered for. Open 10am - 4pm year round, 9am - 5pm in summer. Also now offer Friday evening diners. The only vegetarian menu in the area.

The Wheatsheaf Hotel and Restaurant at Swinton
Address: Main St, Swinton, Berwickshire TD11 3JJ
14 miles from Burnbrae. Fantastic restaurant worth the journey for a special occasion. Located on the main road through the village opposite the green. Accessibility: There are two steps to the main entrance, but they have a ramp. Very helpful staff.

Burts Hoteland the Town house
both in the Square in Melrose
Both opposite each other and owned and operated by the same owners. Great food in an elegant Dining Room or slightly more relaxed in the Brasserie. Parking on street . Excellent for lunch or dinner.

Family run hotel & restaurant. Good food, in lovely surroundings, along with friendly Scottish hospitality. make this a unique setting for our guests to enjoy. Excellent for lunch or dinner. Parking on street .
The Lodge at Carfraemill
Carfraemill is located mid-way between Burnbrae and the Edinburgh, by the junction of the A68 and A697 (TD2 6RA) .
A great place to stop on your way home after a day out in Edinburgh. Tasty varied menu. Accessibility: There is a ramp at the Jo’s Kitchen door !
