Self catering holiday cottages in Scottish Borders
Burnbrae has three warm and spacious one bedroom self catering cottages.
Burnbrae provides everything for a perfect self catering holiday.
Burnbrae is located in the heart of the Scottish Borders, 3 miles from the historical and picturesque town of Kelso and the Rivers Tweed and Teviot which are well known for their spectacular fishing. Kelso, complete with its cobbled streets, large market square and elegant Georgian buildings is regarded as one of the most charming and beautiful towns in the Scottish Borders.
Although Burnbrae is in a rural area we provide reliable Wi-Fi in all 3 cottages free of charge. Our recent visitors said:
"Burnbrae is a beautiful, peaceful place and we hope to return"
"The views from the conservatory were wonderful. The tranquillity was lovely. It just seemed that you had anticipated everyone’s needs. Its also a great location to see so many wonderful landscapes, towns & buildings."
"We loved the bird feeders and bird book and the great views out of the sunroom."
"Your very friendly welcome made us convinced we were in the right place - let alone the homemade baking left out for us - lovely".
"We visit the Scottish Borders on an annual basis and aim to stay somewhere new each year. This was our first visit to Burnbrae and we were extremely impressed with the high standard of cleanliness and superior standard of furnishings and equipment provided. A friendly greeting complete with welcome tray (handmade scones) got us off to a very good start and the holiday did not disappoint!! A delightful base for exploring the surrounding countryside... this is definitely one that we will revisit. Thanks Yvette!!"
Heating Improvement Project
As part of our on-going improvements to reduce our Environmental Footprint, during the winter months of 2014 into 2015
we have installed a wood-pellet boiler and easy to control radiators in all three cottages. We have redecorated both
Thairn and Begrum cottages ready for the new season. Mungo's Well will be finished by end of March.
The gardens will also be prepared for the new season over the next couple of weeks.
As a result we are hosting a reduced workshop programme in 2015, which we hope will please those who were concerned they might miss their inspirational visits to Burnbrae.
We are really excited and pleased to inform you that Tracy Franklin, Mary Sleigh and Mandy Pattullo returning during September and October.

We have been lucky to have hosted some excellent workshops here, and the feedback has been wonderful to hear ~ thank you all.
Burnbrae is surrounded by grazing and agricultural land but is no longer a working farm. My family and I live on site and enjoy helping guests have an wonderful holiday in the Scottish Borders.
